Sargam FM Leeds

While in Kippax, Asian RSL Radio Sargam heard on 87.9 FM, with a reasonable signal.

RDS = SARGAM__

Understood to be an Asian youth station, quite a bit of modern-style Asian music played.
A number of Adverts aired for Leeds-based Asian businesses.

West Yorkshire 87.8 Unidentified

On my way home from work in Kippax (near Leeds), from 4pm, I heard an unidentified station on 87.8 FM.

Possibly a pirate, played what sounded like drum 'n' bass instrumental music (hideously repetitive, in my not-so-humble opinion :-$ ). No announcements heard.

Heard down the A1 until just south of the M62.

DAB - Nottingham multiplex stronger

While up-dating my Clowne DAB band-scan , I noticed that the NOW Nottingham local multiplex - once the weakest of the DAB signals - was giving a much improved signal.

On reading the Radio Now website, the reason became apparent - a new DAB transmitter for said multiplex opened recently in Mansfield, only about 10 miles from Clowne.

Bognor Regis

Just back from a week at Butlins in Bognor Regis. Didn't do a lot of radio listening there, too busy having fun, chillin' on the beach or enjoying the entertainment :-)

On the day before leaving, I did spend 30 minutes in the afternoon doing a log of FM stations. It is noticeable that some (but not all) of the main London stations are receivable as far as Bognor, some strong enough for RDS to be receivable.

Unidentified pirate on 87.7

After listening to George Galloway's regular show on Talk Sport tonight, I flicked my radio to FM.

On 87.7, I heard the last few minutes of a station playing dance music. An announcement was made to the effect that the station was to close down, and would be on-air again the following Saturday.

Weak but listenable signal in Clowne. Location on the station - ??? totally unknown!
